In what ways can giving space to one's inner artist be beneficial ?
" Discovering the facilitative art therapy stance towards creativity enabled my inner artist to express herself towards fulfillment.
It enabled my life to blossom : I found ways to savour my freedom in many more ways than just artistic expression. I believe the world would be a better place if we gave more space to that intimate and immensely rich part of ourselves. Holding that strong belief has pushed me to write my 3rd book on creativity. I really hope more and more of us will find ways to engage in and enjoy our own unique creative process! |
Why ?I believe that visiting the "land of not knowing" through one's own creative process and getting used to handling it, helps us learn to manage the many areas in which we don't have any control in our lives.
Managing the constant choices creativity faces us with, trains us to live a life of true freedom with real choices made from a place of awareness. I also believe it develops one's own trust in life and the ability to respond to whatever arises. Being creative is about adapting to all sorts of inner and outer stimula and making the best of it. It is also a chance to observe that more often than not, when we engage in a creative endeavour with sincerity, even if we mistrust what arises from it, we generally find that something does happen. A process gets born and takes us somewhere where we could not have anticipated before. It brings about trust in the process and in oneself, which can easily be extended to the rest of one's life. |
